SONG OF SOLOMON
September 30, 2009 by Neville · Leave a Comment
I am dark, but lovely,
O daughters of Jerusalem,
Like the tents of Kedar,
Like the curtains of Solomon.
Do not look upon me, because I am dark,
Because the sun has tanned me.

IAN & VIVIENNE WED ON AVOCA BEACH
September 28, 2009 by Neville · Leave a Comment
It was an incredibly windy day on Avoca Beach last Saturday, so windy we had to head indoors to finish the photography, but not before Ian lost his hat to the wind and I lost the diffuser for my flash, both are probably half way to New Zealand by know. Once inside we were a little more relaxed and managed to capture some great shots. These few are just a sneak peek.

A FUN FAMILY BOOK
September 25, 2009 by Neville · Leave a Comment
If your a regular to my blog you may remember a little while ago I photographed a great family down on Avoca Beach. Well they decided there were too many great images to choose from, so they opted to have one of my coffee table A4 size books made up. This is a great option if you want as many images from the shoot as possible without sending you broke. Because I let all my clients know I will shoot images that you will not want to say no to. If you think your family is worth publishing contact me.

Give me a call for more details. In the meantime here is a image from a little while ago of Jorgie.

DUST FILTER
Who need’s colour filters or Photoshop when you have Dubbo dirt. It looks like the west lost it’s top layer this morning with most of it landing on the coast between Wollongong and Newcastle. I popped down to Bateau Bay beach to see what it was doing and came back with images that looked like this, most unusual. There is no image manipulation on this just a tweak of levels in Photoshop and Hey Presto.

IN CONVERSATION
Talking to one of my clients last week the subject of photography came up. Funny that! Anyway she asked me what I prefer to photograph? I replied people. She replied, I thought all you photographers would prefer to photograph the landscape?
This is my reason why I prefer to photograph people. God said in, Jeremiah 32:41. ” I will rejoice over them to do them good.” No where in the bible does God say he delights over the cloud capped mountains, but he does delight in the habitable parts of the earth, even angels don’t give his soul delight. That is why I photograph people, because we are more important to God than any other created thing and, I love getting to know people from all walks of life. It gives me great pleasure when my clients pick up their images, whether a wedding of family portraiture and they take great pleasure in seeing their family preserved for life in a photograph that is created with one thing, love.
Why did I post this image, you can’t see their faces? I hear a few of you saying. Well I wanted to use the sun as a metaphor, for God blessing the union of a man and woman in their act of love by getting married. A little too deep for some maybe, but when I photograph I’m always looking out for the image that will say more as you view it over and over. So that you can take delight in looking at your family. Just as God takes delight in you.
