PERFUME

This morning I started unbelievably before my coffee shooting a couple of bottles of perfume for a job that does not need to be completed until June, which is good because there are over 30 different cosmetic products to photograph. I had already worked out how I was going to light these bottles, so it was just a case of setting the camera up and squeezing the trigger.

BRENTON + KRISTYN = ENGAGED
Yesterday afternoon was spent down by Hardy’s Bay and Putty beach photographing Brenton & Kristyn for their E-Shoot, they will be getting married in November. What a perfect afternoon it was, a light wind, clear blue sky and no crowds. There were so many photo opportunities, it was hard to stop shooting. I have uploaded 4 images today with a few more to follow
A GOOD START

Well this week is starting off really well. Had an email to let me know I had won another comp, this one was with Ephotozine, an online magazine and forum for photographers, letting me know I had won first prize in their LIFE competition. Sunday I photographed Pastor Murray and Suzzane for church Encounter Life. Now today Im off to shoot Brenton and Kristyn for their engagement, then tomorow I will be shooting the Don (Don Bradman), well a brass head of him anyway. I love my job.

I have just had the busiest two day’s sitting behind this monitor. I need a glass of red. Just finished two albums ready for printing, booked another wedding and had a session of editing with a portrait sitting I done a couple of weeks ago and, now I need to have a look at Jorgie’s photos I shot on Monday. I have just got back from a session of photography where Jorgie and myself were almost eaten alive by mosquitoes, I have never seen so many in my life, Elle, Jorgie’s mum escaped to the house. But we had a good time and over the next couple of days I shall process the images, but in the mean time here a few to have a look at.

Today was spent photographing over 70 of theses little things, they look easy enough but don’t be fooled. The colour has to be spot on and the detail sharp, so a large part of my time was spent setting up the lights to get the right amount of highlights and the the right amount of detail in the wood.

This week started off with a small shoot yesterday for a bathroom fixtures company that sell underfloor heating and these heated towel rails, a simple enough job once they were squared up in the camera. The camera was a Nikon D3 with 50mm f1.4 lens, lighting was natural. Another commercial shoot too close the week on Friday.
