PERFECT

Don’t you love being in the right place at the right time?
This morning I headed back down to Terrigal, but this time I shot from the Wamberal end of the beach. When I arrived, there was only one lone fisherman, a bit further north than my position, that was unusual as Wamberal beach has it’s fair share of visitors, from fishermen, surfers, joggers, walkers and those who just want to enjoy it. So I set up the camera not really expecting to get anything too spectacular, as I have photographed this beach at so many different times of the day I was merely here just because I love to photograph, anything. But to be treated to this fantastic display of colour was just a pleasure, well worth getting out of bed for.

TO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
February 27, 2009 by Neville · Leave a Comment
This morning I headed down to Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast, to continue my project on shooting the coast at dawn, I was lucky enough to get a lot closer to the ocean on this occasion as the tide was out and fairly calm, my first shot was easy enough but it was the crashing wave that nearly got me, the one that made me run and think that was close but I hope I got it, I like the best, as it’s a bit like an impressionist painting. I love the explosion of the wave lit up by the rising sun behind and the sharp clear piece of headland on the left of the horizon just to anchor your eye.
What do you think, does it work?

AUSTRALIA’S TOP PHOTOGRAPHERS
Some good news for me. I have just found out that I have been nominated as a contender for Australia’s Top Photographers Awards 2009, stage 2 of the voting is under way so I shall see how far I go, I don’t hold out much hope there are some really good photographers in this, I’m just glad to be included amongst them.

Maternity Shoot
February 24, 2009 by Neville · 2 Comments
Late yesterday afternoon I headed up to the northern end of the Central Coast to shoot some images of Alison, who as you can see is very much pregnant. Just to make these images really special, God decided we needed some really incredible weather, what a show it was. This is one of the reasons I like to photograph portraiture out doors, the elements can really make an image so very special. and no two are the same.

Having arrived at the studio this morning, turned on all the computers ready for a day’s work, editing, finnish Bree and Travis album, check my email and what a fantastic surprise, Peri and Kristy from London have booked me for their wedding in January 2010 and I cant wait they have given me some great time to create the best and awesome photography, this is going to be an all stops out event, we are going to rock. If you read this Peri and Kristy many thanks.
Onto a photo a little closer to home the image below is of Toowoon Bay captured before dawn on Sunday, I have only photographed this beach on one other occasion and that wasn’t much of an image, I really think this small beach has something so I’m going to have to keep going back at different times to see if I can crack it, this one shows the Surf Club just before the sun comes over the horizon.

Where is summer.

Because it’s dull, grey and supposed to be summer here and I’m missing the colours and the sun, without the burn, I thought I would post this image I captured a while back that has been used for stock all over the place, mind you the last time someone asked to use it was a real estate company, I shan’t say which, decided after finding out the cost, decided to try and shoot one themselves, because as we all know the new sales rep has a really good camera, (but no idea) and good photography is all down to the camera. Yeah right!

Bateau Bay before dawn

This morning I popped down to Bateau Bay beach. Because I was awake and felt like. I have photographed this place so many times, I’ve lost count, but to come back with something worth while is always refreshing, this morning was no different. I felt this image nedded to be black & white for a change, but to give it a more personal feel, I added some grain, just to soften things a wee bit and be involved with the picture rather than just record the scene before me.
Remmber guy’s if you want to add your comments to anything you see on this blog just click the comments tag and go for it, I would love to hear from you.

Portrates @ Somesby Falls
February 19, 2009 by Neville · Leave a Comment
Wednesday I headed upto Somersby Falls to do some portrature of Loren, it was a warm sticky aftrenoon with beautiful soft light coming through the trees, the right kind of light to do backlighting and flair, we also found this small cave with incredible colour, lite by the low sun, the light was only there for approx 10 mins.
