NEW FOUND SKILLS

For the last week I have been talking to a very well known art photographer in Switzerland who’s work I have followed for quite a while now and admired, about light. I asked him if he would critique one of my photos of Merrin I captured 6 months ago, I was not happy with it and couldn’t work out what was wrong, so he emailed some lighting set up sketches for me to study. After taking his advice this is the image I came up with and, I cannot stop looking at it, my light is now so much richer there is more depth, feeling, tone and I love the light on Merrin’s neck. I cannot wait to push this new skill further on my next portrait sitting and, I know who that’s going to be.
