This is what you can come home with if you pre-viusalize your photography. While lying in bed listening to the rain this morning, I thought there just maybe a chance a small gap might be on the horizon line. So grabbing my gear I headed down to the beach.
Six minute’s is all I had to capture this scene this morning down on my local Bateau Bay beach. I decided to use the north end of the beach as I knew it had a flat rock platform that if there was a gap in the horizon line between ocean and clouds the sun would bounce up underneath and create a bit of a light show. So having found a pleasing arrangements of small rock’s to lead your eye through the picture it was just a matter of waiting for the moment. I had the D3 with 24-70mm lens attached, plus a 0.9 natural density filter on my trusty Benbo tripod, exposure was 1.0sec at f18 film speed was 200 iso, calculated on my Minolta light meter.
