LETS GET CREATIVE

After I’ve finished a shoot for a client I like to get a little creative just for myself. Below are two images from the Nonnaweena fashion show to which I have applied my own interpretive view. One piece of equipment I cannot go on a shoot without, especially on a job like this is my hand held Minolta light meter. These two images would have been completely different with the cameras light meter adjusting everything to an average tone. In the case of the bride coming up the steps, she would have been almost in silhouette, as the cameras light meter would be reading the bright sky behind her, but by taking an incident reading, that is reading the amount of light falling onto the subject, rather than the amount of light being reflected, I get all the detail in the dress and a lovely soft skin tone.
