The months pass ever so quickly, Lauren is now 24 weeks with her twins and I know what they are but I’m not telling. We decided to go and shoot this months image on black. My problem is going to be, come up with something different each month. But I have to say Lauren looks fantastic, she is glowing and I’m enjoying this shoot so much.

Yesterday I started what will be an incredible series of images. This is Lauren who is just 4 months pregnant, with twins. You may if your a regular to my blog remember, I followed Lauren and Grace for a whole year last year. From Grace’s first day to her first birthday, which culminated into a coffee table book. This was a gift from her brother Glen, who is the man to call if you want your financials put in oder. Anyway we have decided to start the project yearly and photograph her belly as it grows, which will then be made into one long print, but thats down the track and something for me to think about.

grace turns 1 today and it was my last monthly photo shoot, I now have to make up her book of 24 pages, 2 pages per month. I’m going to miss my monthly shoots with grace, it has been a joy to watch her grow up, change, develop a little bit of her character. this book will become a treasured piece of family history one I’m sure all members of grace’s family will enjoy for many years.

Grace decided she needed to bring the family down to the beach this Sunday afternoon and, for good measure I had to be there also. The weather was perfect. With just the right amount of cloud with the correct temperature and the sea was not too bad either. I have only one more session with Grace then it’s over, I think I’m going to miss these once in a month adventures.

Grace was definitely in no mood for photography this morning, but did that deter me from getting shots of her with gramp’s? No fear. Although the session was over pretty quickly I managed to get a few images where she was preoccupied with munching on either a biscuit or a twig.

I used the Nikon D700 this morning with an SB900 flash fired through a large softbox, to bring out the light in the eye’s, it was fired via an SU800, so I didn’t have to bother with too many light readings. Which was 125th @ f5.6 calculated on my minolta light meter. The colour balance is a Pre selected one. I used my CBL disk to make a colour balance around Christmas time when the sun was high in the sky, this has given me a light temperature reading more natural than relying on the cameras presets, or AWB. So now when I take shots anytime of the day I’m sure to get those lovely subtle colour balances film used to get.

It’s Grace’s first Christmas so what better fun can a child have than a box to play with. Only two more shoots left and it will be the end of Grace’s first year. I know the book is going to look fantastic.

Grace, Lauren and myself were on the Entrance beach for this month’s “A Day in the Life Of” shoot today and, Grace was most persistent in wanting to taste and eat the sand, so we didn’t get many shots as her face was more in the sand than  up and looking about, but the ones we did grab are very special.

Just before this afternoons storm hit I made these images of one of my favorite ladies, Farrah. The last images in one year of her life so far and she is just walking.

It was Grace’s first location shoot today and, to cheer us all up she decided it was going to be a pink dress day. What a perfect choice, we popped to the green at the top of Toowoon bay and just shot pictures.
